Summary

Elastic, water and frost resistant adhesive mortar with better adhesiveness. Used mostly for fixing of ceramic and clinker tiles on untreated or primed stable wall substrate made of concrete, light weight concrete or plaster board / marmox. Can also be used on floors and walls treated with 4400 multicoat, painted surfaces, old tiles, etc. The adhesive can be applied on substrate with small movements. Usually not recommended for tiles with water absorption below 0,3%. Grouting on walls - after several hours; on floor - after appr. 24 hours.

Supplied in 15 kg plastic strengthened paper bags.

Use

mira 3100 unifix tile adhesive is applicable for fixing of wall and floor tiles on stable substrates made of concrete, light weight concrete, plasterboard, anhydrite, Marmox Insulation board, cement based flooring screed, painted surfaces, terazzo, old tiles, heated floors, surfaces insulated with 4400 multicoat and 4120 sealer. Concrete substrates are suitably stable when the major part of the drying shrinkage has occurred.

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be stable, dry, compact, cleaned of dust, grease, oil etc. Concrete slurry (if any) should be removed, weaker parts of substrate should be removed and then repaired again. Dust can be removed with a vacuum cleaner. Grease, oil, dirt should be cleaned with 7110 base cleaner. Absorptive substrates should be primed with mira 4120 sealer, thinned with water in the ratio: 1 part of 4120 sealer and 3 parts of water. Non-absorptive substrates e.g. made of ceramic tiles etc. need not to be primed.

Technical conditions

a. Mixing

Adhesive mortar should be mixed in proportion: approx. 0,25 l of water for 1 kg of powder Mixed adhesive mortar should be left for approx. 20 minutes, then stir well - now it is ready-to-use. Best results gives mixing with a glue mixer.

b. Application

Prepared adhesive mortar should be applied with a smooth side of a trowel and spread well on the surface, then spread with a toothed side of a trowel. Tooth size depends on the tile size.

c. Temperature:

Minimum air and substrate temperature +6°C

d. Application time:

After mixing adhesive mortar should be used within 6-8 hrs. It is not recommended to apply adhesive mortar on larger surfaces, than it is possible to fix tiles before the skin effect appears on the adhesives mortar’s surface i.e. after 20-30 minutes.

e. Drying time:

Grouting of joints is allowed after a period depending on absorption of tiles and substrate and also on air temperature: for walls - approx. 6 hours, for floors - approx 24 hours.

Consumption:

2.5 - 6.0 kg/m2 depending on tile type and size and surface smoothness.

**Fracture in substrate

Cleaning of tools:

Tools should be cleaned with water directly after use. Hard to remove remains can be removed with mira 7120 ceramic cleaner.

Packing:

3100 unifix (grey) is packed in 5 kg plastic strengthened paper bags with handle grips.

Storage and transportation:

Transport and store dry. Storage period; min. 1 year from the production date in original and undamaged packing.

Industrial safety:

The product contains cement. Its reaction with water is strongly alkaline so protect skin and eyes. In case of contact clean irritated places with water and contact a doctor. Keep out from reach of children.
